Does it just seem that this country is going down the tubes at an ever increasing rate. We seem to have a permanent aristocracy in Wall st. that cannot be removed, whether they fail or not. How very democratic. It is enough to make one go mad as hell. Where is personal responsibility, where is civic duty, we are being fooled by two sides of the one coin. I’m really angry today.

our leaders have failed us, talk of Socialism and Free markets is a nice little diversion for Congress men to get the ordinary people worked up and distracted.

What to do if you have lost your job

The recent boom in America, was a social changing one as much as any boom ever was. People across the country were working from the very start all out, and organisations such as little league baseball and other voluntary organisations suffered as they could not get people to give up their time for the greater good. We had changed from being a sucessful nation, where people valued financial stability and good community, to one that valued only financial success.

This is to the detriment of all society, as people become split from wider reality, and cannot make educated decisions.

If you are been made unempolyed and feel that you don’t have an outlet for your passion and talent, then check outif you can volunteer in your community. It is also a career positive thing, as you never know, but the person also doing it may have a vacancy coming up. That may be cynical, but I suppose the world is cynical, lets try to make it some bit better though.

Tax

I was looking at an online documentary about the tax protests in the country a while back. It was truly moving to see people that were not republicans, not libertarians, not democrats or liberals, many of the people in the group were just finding that they were being pinned to the collar by the govt. squeezing them on one side, and big business squeezing their wages and forcing costs up.

America seems to have gone corporate, with regards to business only. I suppose to some degree that this was always the case, but at this stage, it seems that the companies are now running the country whoever is in power. THE DICE IS LOADED AGAINST THE ORDINARY PUNTER.

I wonder how long will people put up with big taxes, big costs, low wages and all the power concentrated in the hands of Wall st. Big changes are coming.

So this week has been pretty momentous for the nation, a failed administration is removed from office. A new and dynamic leader comes in to place, in the midst of a major crisis. What does it all mean.

There can be no doubt, that America is facing a very serious crisis, that will possibily drag on the nation for the next ten years, and remove it as the worlds economic and political power.

I think that we will be lucky, if Obama can turn the country around, in two years time, the hole is so deep and the level of mismanagement over the last thirty years is shocking. Future historians will look back at the deficit spending of the 80′s as the period that the rot began, and Dick Cheney’s statement that deficits do not matter. Tell that Dick to a home owner is about to foreclose, or the international finance markets that question the long term stability of the U.S. dollar. It turns out that spending more than you earn is a bad idea. What a shock, George W. the greatest Govt. spender on record will be shocked.
